How Powerful is Carillon's
Order Entry Window?
Here's what you can do without ever leaving
the Order Entry window:
- Quotes - You can:
- create a new approved or
unapproved quote (depending on your security rights);
- modify or approve an existing
quote;
- copy a previous order to
start a new quote;
- copy a previous quote to
start a new quote;
- send (print, fax or email)
a quote to the customer;
- convert the quote into an
order with a single mouse click;
- indicate a promise date, do not
ship before date, and a cancellation date;
- check available-to-sell
quantities as of the promise date;
- have the system automatically
price the line items (including any contract pricing
for that customer and including quantity and customer
discounts). Of course you can override the pricing
if you have the system configured to allow it;
- apply a line item discount if
you have the system configured to allow it;
- create new items, customers
and ship-to's if you have the security rights to
do so;
- track the person who is
placing the order, the person it should be shipped
to as well as the person it should be billed to
(all of these people are fully integrated with
the Carillon - CRM module). This is in addition
to the companies the items should be shipped to
and billed to;
- automatically calculate
sales tax based on the ship-to location or the
will-call location;
- indicate the preferred method
of shipment;
- look up items based on the
item id, item description, customer's item id or
based on many other criteria (it's user configurable);
- add unlimited notes at the
header level and for each line item;
- view customer notes and
item notes;
- see unlimited purchase history
for this customer to make it easy to identify the
items and prices for repeat orders;
- see a picture of the item
- custom draw a picture of
the item; and
- custom configure the first
level bill of materials or kit for any item.
- Sales Orders - In addition to
all of the things above, you can:
- create a new approved or unapproved
sales order (depending on your security rights);
- modify or approve an existing
sales order;
- copy a previous order to start
a new order;
- copy a previous quote to start
a new order;
- send (print, fax or email) an
order acknowledgement to the person placing the order
and to the outside sales rep;
- approve an order (with the proper
security settings);
- credit check an order;
- have the Credit Manager override
a credit hold on an order;
- create one or more purchase orders
for items on this sales order;
- create one or more production
orders for items on this sales order;
- ship each line item to multiple
ship-to's;
- indicate which warehouse the order
should be shipped from;
- record payment information (credit
card information);
- record down payment information
and have the system automatically post the down payment
to deferred revenue; and
- assign one or more salespeople
and split the commissions amongst them.
